Daphne Kis discusses public trust, higher ed and the future of data science at Milken Global Conference
Last month WorldQuant University CEO Daphne Kis joined leaders from all over the world at the Milken Institute’s annual global conference to discuss the future of higher education. The focus of this year’s conference was on shared prosperity, and how world leaders can come together to ensure this a priority for our global future.
In Daphne’s panel on higher education and the public trust, she joined educational leaders Paul LeBlanc of Southern New Hampshire University, Carol Quillen of Davidson College, and Holden Thorp of Washington University in St. Louis. The panel was moderated by Adam Harris of The Atlantic.
With her colleagues, Daphne advocated for a future of education that treats outcomes and job placement not as afterthoughts, but as a necessary framework for building public trust and ensuring a competent workforce. Now, more than ever, it is imperative that educational institutions take the first step in creating a feedback loop between educators and employers to ensure that education is executing its mission of connecting students to promising and lucrative careers.
In addition to her panel, Daphne had the opportunity to chat with LinkedIn’s Senior Finance Editor Devin Banerjee on LinkedIn Live. They talked about WorldQuant University, the future of applied data science, and the evolution of education. You can watch Daphne’s interview at the :59 mark here.
